At our clinic, we specialize in Traditional Tibetan Medicine and holistic healing. While we do not accept insurance directly, there are still ways you can get reimbursed for our services. This guide will help you understand how to make insurance claims to enjoy our care without worrying about costs.

Step 1: Verify Your Insurance Coverage

Before your visit, call your insurance provider and ask the following questions:

  • Does my plan cover out-of-network providers?
  • Are services like alternative or complementary medicine (such as Traditional Tibetan Medicine, acupuncture, or massage therapy) covered?
  • What is the reimbursement process for out-of-network care?
  • Is a referral from my Primary Care Provider (PCP) required?
  • What is my deductible and co-insurance for out-of-network care?

Step 2: Request a Superbill

At each visit, we can provide you with a superbill, which is a detailed receipt that contains all the necessary information your insurance provider will need to process your reimbursement claim. It includes:

  • Date of service
  • Services rendered (with codes if required)
  • Diagnosis and treatment codes (where applicable)
  • Fees paid
  • Our clinic information and Tax ID

Step 3: Get a Referral (If Required)

Some insurance companies require a referral from your Primary Care Provider (PCP) to cover out-of-network treatments. If this is the case, ask your PCP to fill out the appropriate form and submit it to your insurance provider.

Step 4: Submit a Claim

Once you have your superbill, follow these steps:

  1. Fill out your insurance company’s claim form (available on their website or by calling customer service).
  2. Attach the superbill and any other requested documentation.
  3. Submit the claim by mail or online, depending on the insurer’s process.

Step 5: Follow Up

After submitting your claim, check with your insurance provider to ensure they’ve received all documents. Be patient as the reimbursement process may take a few weeks.

Additional Tips

  • Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs): If you have an HSA or FSA, you can use those funds to pay for our services and potentially save on taxes.
  • Out-of-Network Benefits: If your insurance offers out-of-network benefits, you may still be able to get a percentage of the cost reimbursed, even if we are not in-network.
  • Referral Letter: We can provide a referral letter for your PHP if needed. Contact us for more information.
